Job Title: Construction Laborer (Grave Shift)
Job Description
This role supports a large-scale industrial construction project in Fremont on night shifts. You will work as a rigging, anchoring, or tech laborer in a highly physical, hands-on environment, helping move, align, level, and anchor heavy industrial machinery using a variety of hand and power tools. The position requires strong safety awareness, reliability, and the ability to work in an active construction setting on extended night shifts.
Responsibilities
Assist in setting up and testing rigging lines, pulleys, hoists, and pulling gear to safely support and move heavy equipment.
Help with the precise alignment, leveling, and anchoring of heavy industrial machinery according to project specifications.
Attach loads to rigging and clearly signal or direct equipment operators to ensure safe lifting and movement of materials.
Clean and prepare work sites, including clearing debris, laying bracing, erecting scaffolding, and building support forms as needed.
Operate and handle a variety of hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow all site safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
Support rigging and crating activities to prepare equipment and materials for safe transport.
Work collaboratively with a large team to complete tasks on schedule and respond to direction from site supervisors and lead tradespeople.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in varied site conditions during night shifts.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial construction, concrete, or general labor.
Demonstrated experience using power tools, including but not limited to drills, jackhammers, and other construction-related equipment.
Demonstrated experience using hand tools commonly used in construction and rigging work.
Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines.
Ability to frequently lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds and perform sustained physical labor.
Ability to work safely in an active construction environment, including standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and balancing for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in confined or high-noise spaces.
Strong punctuality, reliability, and a solid work ethic, especially on night shifts.
High focus on safety protocols, including safe rigging, load handling, and use of tools and equipment.
Minimum age of 18 years.
High school diploma or GED is generally preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in rigging and anchoring heavy equipment is a strong plus.
Experience with millwright work or supporting millwrights on industrial installations.
Experience working with concrete, including forming, placing, or finishing, is beneficial.
Forklift experience or familiarity with material handling equipment is an advantage.
Experience in crating and preparing machinery or materials for transport is helpful.
Prior experience on large industrial or manufacturing projects is a plus.
Willingness to work a variety of night shifts, including 10-hour and 12-hour schedules.
Comfort working as part of a large, coordinated team on complex projects.

Work Environment
You will work on a large, active construction site as part of a sizable night-shift crew. Shifts run Monday through Sunday, with rigging and anchoring laborers typically working 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (10-hour shifts) and tech laborers typically working 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (12-hour shifts). The environment is highly physical and fast-paced, involving frequent lifting, climbing, and movement around heavy industrial machinery. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, as well as in confined and high-noise areas. You will regularly use hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, and may work around forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, including steel-toed boots and a hard hat, in line with standard construction site safety practices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
