Job Title: Construction Laborer
Job Description
This role supports a large, high-profile construction project involving heavy industrial machinery at a major manufacturing facility. As a construction laborer on the morning shift, you will perform highly physical, hands-on work that includes rigging, anchoring, and general construction tasks to safely move, install, and secure equipment on a busy job site.
Responsibilities
Assist with rigging operations by setting up and testing rigging lines, pulleys, hoists, and pulling gear to support the safe movement of heavy equipment.
Support anchoring activities by helping align, level, and anchor heavy industrial machinery with precision.
Attach loads to rigging and communicate clearly with equipment operators by signaling and directing them to ensure safe lifting and movement.
Prepare work sites by cleaning areas, laying bracing, erecting scaffolding, and building support forms as needed for construction and equipment installation.
Operate and handle a variety of hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, laser levels, and skid steers, in a safe and efficient manner.
Assist with crating and preparing equipment for transport, ensuring all rigging and securing methods follow safety standards.
Follow all site safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with rigging, anchoring, and technical teams to complete tasks on schedule and support overall project goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout each shift.
Adapt to changing job site needs by performing general labor duties such as material handling, debris removal, and basic site maintenance.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial construction, concrete work, or general labor roles.
Hands-on experience using power tools, including drills, saws, jackhammers, and similar equipment.
Hands-on experience using hand tools, such as wrenches, hammers, levels, and measuring tools.
Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical systems and equipment.
Ability to frequently lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, climb, and maintain balance for extended periods in an active job site environment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in confined or high-noise spaces.
Strong focus on safety protocols, including safe lifting techniques, equipment handling, and adherence to site rules.
Reliable punctuality and consistent attendance for assigned shifts.
Effective communication skills to signal and coordinate with operators and team members.
Minimum age of 18 years.
High school diploma or GED is generally preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in millwright work, including installation and alignment of industrial machinery.
Experience with concrete work, such as forming, pouring, or finishing.
Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
Experience with rigging, including slinging loads, using hoists, and understanding load limits.
Experience with crating and preparing equipment or machinery for transport.
Prior experience on large industrial or manufacturing construction projects.
Ability to work effectively as part of a large, coordinated field crew.
Strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
Comfort working long shifts (10-12 hours) as required by project needs.

Work Environment
You will work on a large, active construction site alongside a substantial team of rigging, anchoring, and technical laborers. You will work both indoors and outdoors, often exposed to varying weather conditions and high-noise areas. The role involves regular use of power and hand tools, including jackhammers, laser levels, skid steers, and other construction equipment. Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, including steel-toed boots and a hard hat, along with other site-specific safety gear as needed. The setting is collaborative and safety-focused, with clear communication and coordination required among team members and equipment operators.

This is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
