Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator (Contract - 10 Weeks)Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Purchasing Coordinator to support our operations team on a short-term, 10-week contract. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely procurement of materials, and supporting production planning efforts.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in an office setting and on the warehouse floor, has strong organizational and communication skills, and brings prior experience in purchasing or supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform physical inventory counts to assess current on-hand product levels and identify replenishment needs
Partner closely with the Production Scheduler to align material purchasing with upcoming production plans
Procure raw materials and packaging supplies to support manufacturing operations
Manage ordering of office supplies, PPE (e.g., hair nets, gloves), and sanitation chemicals
Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and lead times
Track and monitor orders from PO creation through delivery, ensuring timely fulfillment
Communicate with suppliers to resolve shipment discrepancies, errors, or returns
Support the creation, maintenance, and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Maintain accurate records and tracking systems using Excel and internal tools
Required Qualifications
1-2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and managing inventory and orders
Comfort working in a warehouse environment, including performing physical inventory counts
Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments
Solid computer and math skills with strong attention to detail
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management
Ability to work on-site 5 days per week
Availability to commit to a 10-week contract assignment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with ERP systems (ProTrace preferred)
Background in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred but not required)
Work Environment & Contract Details
Fully on-site role, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract length: 10 weeks (covering leave of absence for Purchasing Supervisor)
Small, collaborative team environment (team of 3; 1 currently on leave)
This position is not intended to convert to full-time, though candidates may apply for other opportunities internally

Pay and Benefits
