Operations Manager Job Description
Salary: $**44,000
Hours: 40 hours per week including alternating Saturdays
Supervised by and reports to CVR Board of Directors
*Qualifications and Skills:
Education: High school degree or higher, proficient computer user.
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a commitment to CVR's Mission.
Willingness and ability to work and communicate with people in a friendly, professional manner, including volunteers and community service workers of varying abilities and aptitudes.
Physically robust. Able to lift and carry heavy items, walk from one end of the warehouse to the other (400 feet) twenty times daily while carrying a 25-pound load.
Have a valid driver's license.
Operations Manager Duties:

Collaborate with Bookkeeper, help keep accounting records: Must understand general procedures for all bookkeeping functions as well as financial statements, payroll, tax returns, reports to government agencies, quarterly invoice to PaintCare, etc. Be responsible for timely completion of federal, State, and local government reports.

Human Resources Management:
a. Collaborate with CVR Executive Committee in the hiring and termination of terminate employees
b. Communicate with employees re: employee policies, benefits, safety, etc.
c. Train employees, volunteers and persons performing court appointed Useful Public Service (UPS) workers on assigned tasks
d. Take care of Workers Compensation documentation, claims and follow up.
e. Collaborate with bookkeeper to complete reports for CDLE -- Colorado Dept of Labor and Employment (unemployment), the WAGEES and ReEmployAbility programs
f. Oversee UPS workers including oversight of required documentation

Communications
a) Answer telephone (carry company cell phone)
b) Respond to emails
c) Communicate with board of directors on important matters
d) Collaborate with CVR Board on tour coordination
Materials Handling and Processing (many of these tasks can be delegated to the staff)
a. Physically perform all tasks done by every person in the operation.
b. Know how to sort and process materials in order to train others. Maintain quality control of materials. Presently we handle Cardboard, Plastic, Paper, Metals, Glass, Ewaste, Paint, Ink cartridges, Clothing and thrift items.
c. Keep track of quantity of materials and update monthly inventory report.
d. Communicate with brokers and shippers when ready to sell commodities.
e. Help load outgoing semi-trucks as needed.
f. Operate fork lift and skid steer loader, operate balers.
g. Troubleshoot operational problems with equipment.

a. Complete reports required grants, adhering to timelines
b. Prepare and present monthly management reports for board of directors
c. Prepare Annual facility report to Colorado Dept of Public Health and Environment

a. Lead weekly employee meetings
b. Attend monthly board meetings
