Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. Responsibilities Conduct technical research and market analysis on emerging technologies relevant to DoW objectives. Support the design, coding, and integration of software proto@types and proof-of-concept applications. Assist in building and configuring secure sandbox environments for experimental technology. Participate in laboratory and operational testing of modernized mobile devices and proto@type systems. Execute test plans and assist in troubleshooting hardware and software anomalies. Support vulnerability assessments and security evaluations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. Additional Information PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: Upon successful completion of their academic program and the trainee program, the student may be converted to a permanent position in the excepted consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GG-1550 or 899-5/7/9/11/12 up to the full performance level of GG-13. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level.
