Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical systems in a high-volume industrial laundry facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, reduces downtime, and supports continuous production by diagnosing and resolving issues with PLC-controlled systems, conveyors, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other automated equipment while consistently following established safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, including sensors, photo eyes, and automated systems.
Diagnose issues with electrical motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
Use precision diagnostic tools and instruments such as multimeters and ohmmeters to identify equipment failures.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair, modify, or improve equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance to minimize production downtime.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned outages.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Follow all safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and facility policies at all times.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
Proven experience in industrial machinery repair and maintenance.
Strong PLC troubleshooting skills, including ladder logic and PLC control systems.
Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance programs.
Proficiency in mechanical repair and diagnostics.
Proficiency in electrical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting, including working with 3-phase power.
Experience working with conveyors and industrial motors.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their troubleshooting.
Ability to read and work from schematics and technical documentation.
Skilled in welding and basic fabrication for equipment repair.
Strong mechanical problem-solving abilities.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and precision instruments such as multimeters and ohmmeters.
Effective communication and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience performing PLC programming or adjustments to existing programs.
Experience working in high-volume production or processing environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering and operations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.

Work Environment
This role is based in a high-volume industrial laundry facility that handles both clean and soiled textiles, where the environment can occasionally have a musty odor. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with some flexibility as needed, and there may be occasional on-call responsibilities without a fixed on-call schedule. You will work around automated equipment, conveyors, motors, PLC-controlled systems, and other industrial machinery, using tools such as multimeters, ohmmeters, and welding equipment. The facility follows strict safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and requires adherence to appropriate industrial attire and personal protective equipment suitable for a laundry production environment.
