Job Description
This role supports the production of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, precision microchips, and custom machined components by performing detailed quality inspections, documenting product quality records, and assisting in the development of robust quality procedures and processes. The Quality Technician ensures that products meet stringent specifications and customer requirements by accurately interpreting drawings, using precision measurement tools, and maintaining comprehensive quality documentation.
Responsibilities
Receive product quality requirements (PQR) from customers and collect all required documentation, data, and traceability records for jobs and products.
Perform accurate data entry and data maintenance using Excel and other software tools to support quality records and reporting.
Capture clear photos and thoroughly document non-conformances, including investigating root causes and recording findings.
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), to understand part specifications and inspection criteria.
Use quality inspection instruments and tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify product dimensions and features.
Support the development and improvement of new and existing quality procedures and processes by applying prior manufacturing and quality experience.
Maintain organized, complete, and accurate quality documentation to support traceability, audits, and customer requirements.
Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and ensure alignment with specifications.
Assist in preparing or supporting quality-related documentation such as PQR, PPAP, and APQP when needed.
Follow established quality standards and procedures to ensure consistent inspection practices and compliance with applicable quality systems.
Essential Skills
Hands-on quality inspection experience using basic inspection hand tools, including calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and height gauges.
Ability to read and interpret prints and engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience working with manufacturing processes and an understanding of how parts are produced and inspected.
Proficiency with computers and strong working knowledge of Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Experience using or supporting coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support quality investigations.
Familiarity with structured quality documentation such as PQR, PPAP, and APQP.
Awareness of formal quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ASQ certification or equivalent quality-related credential preferred.
GD&T Technologist certification or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of the practical application of statistical methods, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and control plans.
Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as 8D and 5-Why.
Hands-on experience operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is highly desirable.
Prior exposure to or experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems is preferred.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled facility with a close-knit quality team of approximately four people. The dress code allows for practical and comfortable attire, including jeans, T-shirts, and closed-toe shoes, suitable for a hands-on inspection environment. The position follows a first-shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with optional overtime available as needed. The work involves regular use of precision inspection tools and quality-related software in a structured, process-oriented setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
