Strategic Partnership & Innovation:
Partners with Business Relationship Management and operational stakeholders within the organization to understand business and IT objectives and long-range strategies.
Influences and informs the strategic roadmap based on industry and technology trends.
Engages in innovation and prototyping of new technical capabilities.
Collaborates with technology organization leaders to align business roadmap and technology capabilities to ensure long-term efficient, effective, and value-driven delivery.
Drives innovation in technology solutions with respect to industry-specific use cases.
Participates actively in Architecture Governance boards.
Keeps abreast of the latest technology trends in the cloud and in the industry.
Defines roadmaps (short-term & long-term view) working in collaboration with other Enterprise Architects, Solutions Architects and Technology leaders for platform evolution, technology adoption, and disposition of applications in the portfolio.
Serves as a catalyst for innovation within the organization, driving new technological initiatives and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
Architecture:
Owns the strategic architecture for the enterprise's platforms.
Responsible for reference architecture in collaboration with solution architects.
Regularly assesses current state and potential future states, identifying attainable incremental transition states.
Creates architecture strategy for Product Management and delivery teams, considering new business capabilities as well as technical debt.
Engages in integrated planning with other Enterprise / Solution Architects to ensure seamless and cohesive operation of systems with other domains.
Design and articulate both conceptual and reference architectures and maintain an intimate understanding of the current enterprise systems and domains.
Facilitates the technology governance processes, ensuring alignment between business needs and technological capabilities.
Contributes consistently to Architecture Governance boards (e.g., Architecture Board, Technology Governance Committee)
Research & Best Practices
Collaborates with teams and keeps up on industry trends and current technological standards and best practices.
Partner with key stakeholders to establish and adopt architectural best practices, guidelines, and standards. Evangelize, mentor, and coach on architectural best practices, guidelines, and standards.
Assists with socializing architecture principles and artifacts.
Project Leadership & Delivery:
Serves as a technical advisor on project solution architecture. Ensures projects adhere to the principles, guidelines, and company architecture standards.
Serves in any capacity deemed necessary to ensure projects get completed.
Advises on proposed solution architectures in the architecture board to facilitate the use of reference architectures and strategic principles.
Maintains ongoing communication with solution architects, verifying that the solution that was built adheres to the solution that was designed. Governs the adherence to enterprise best practices.
Balances long-term strategy and short-term project goals.
Conceptualizes and articulates alternatives to problem resolution.
Builds consensus across stakeholder groups including management and individual contributors.
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field, from a four-year college or university. Master's degree or post graduate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in software development, information systems, or equivalent technical environment, inclusive of experience in the development of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and API-based architecture, 8 years of related development experience and 4 years of experience serving a development team technical lead/or architecture experience
Experience in implementing architectures that satisfy business, systems, information, security, application, and technology architecture requirements as well as support resilience, observability, and supportability requirements.
Experience in systems engineering techniques such as architecture modeling, alternative analysis, tradeoff analysis, and portfolio analysis.
Experience in business process modeling & reengineering.
Exceptional knowledge and experience in designing and implementing enterprise class systems of applications including:
Designing service APIs.
Designing systems integrated with messaging solutions with a working knowledge of the service and messaging design patterns.
Defining application and system boundaries and an understanding of Domain-Driven Design.
Defining non-functional requirements such as scalability, availability, and security.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director, Enterprise Architecture. You will have 2 peer teammates and collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams on a regular basis.
