Job Title: TRAVELING Construction General Laborer
Job Description
Join a specialized construction team that engineers, inspects, restores, and manages the full lifecycle of heavy-duty steel and wood structures, including utility poles, lighting grids, and telecommunication towers. In this role, you travel frequently to project sites, perform structural repairs and inspections, and support field service operations to ensure critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable, and compliant.
Responsibilities
Travel to various project sites for extended periods, typically up to 5-6 weeks at a time followed by a week off.
Repair and restore heavy-duty steel and wood structures such as utility poles, lighting grids, and telecommunication towers.
Perform concrete work, including building, setting, and repairing concrete forms.
Operate table saws, drills, and a wide range of power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Conduct structural inspections to identify damage, wear, or safety concerns and document findings accurately.
Support field service and repair activities, including on-site troubleshooting and maintenance of structures.
Carry out quality assurance tasks to ensure all work meets company standards and industry regulations.
Perform basic data entry to record work performed, inspection results, and project details.
Work at heights comfortably and safely, following all safety procedures and using appropriate fall protection.
Collaborate with crew members on-site to complete projects on time and to specification.
Adapt to working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.
Essential Skills
Concrete and construction experience, particularly in structural and utility-related projects.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including trips lasting 5-6 weeks at a time.
Comfort working at heights on steel and wood structures such as poles and towers.
Experience with field service repair in a construction or utility environment.
Experience performing structural inspections or assisting with inspection activities.
Proficiency with power tools and hand tools, including table saws and drills.
Ability to perform basic data entry to document work and inspection results.
Knowledge in concrete or utility construction, with at least 5+ years of experience in the concrete/utility field that includes travel.
Demonstrated leadership characteristics and the ability to take initiative on-site.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols in the field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Skid steer experience is a plus.
Experience in utility construction involving steel and wood structures is advantageous.
Prior experience in long-duration field assignments or projects lasting several weeks to months.
Ability to mentor or guide less experienced crew members, supporting internal promotion and team development.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and report project status.
Solid problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in the field, often in remote or challenging environments.

Work Environment
You work primarily in the field on projects that can last from 3 weeks to 6 months, often in remote or outdoor locations. The role requires you to work in the elements and alongside nature and wildlife, so you must be comfortable with varying weather conditions and terrain. Standard schedules can reach up to 60-hour work weeks, reflecting the demands of field construction projects. You regularly use power tools, hand tools, and other construction equipment, including tools for concrete work and structural repairs. Steel-toe footwear with ankle protection is required, while other necessary personal protective equipment and gear are provided. The environment is hands-on, physically demanding, and safety-focused, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to field safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
