Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
This role supports daily operations in a fast-paced distribution center by accurately picking, packing, and handling inventory using RF scanners, pick tickets, and warehouse management systems. You ensure orders meet quality and accuracy standards, safely move materials throughout the facility using material handling equipment, and maintain clean, organized work areas to keep products flowing efficiently.
Responsibilities
Pick customer orders accurately using RF scanners, pick tickets, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
Pack customer orders according to company specifications, ensuring proper product protection, correct labeling, and neat presentation.
Meet or exceed established productivity, accuracy, and quality metrics in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Load, unload, move, and stage inventory throughout the distribution center using appropriate equipment and methods.
Safely handle materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, conveyors, and other warehouse equipment as required.
Maintain organized, clean, and clearly labeled work areas, ensuring inventory is stored in assigned locations.
Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete tasks according to established procedures and schedules.
Work under time constraints while maintaining safety, quality, and accuracy standards.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support smooth warehouse operations.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies while remaining alert and focused throughout the assigned shift.
Essential Skills
Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment center.
Hands-on experience using RF scanners and, ideally, warehouse management systems (WMS) or working with production metrics.
Material handling equipment experience, including pallet jacks and forklifts (forklift certification is a strong advantage).
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to production schedules and deadlines.
Ability to work safely, follow safety procedures, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to achieve intended objectives.
Ability to work the assigned shift and remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse environment.
Comfort using RF scanners, pick tickets, and other handheld or electronic devices to manage inventory.
Familiarity with productivity, accuracy, and quality metrics in a distribution or fulfillment setting.
Forklift certification or formal training with powered industrial trucks.
Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy when picking and packing orders.

Work Environment
The role is based in a distribution center and fast-paced warehouse environment where you handle, move, and store inventory throughout the facility. You work around material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and conveyors, and regularly use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to complete tasks. The position follows a structured schedule, typically working either 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., requiring you to remain alert, safety-conscious, and productive throughout the shift in an active, hands-on setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
