Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - MEP Design (All Experience Levels)
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for mechanical engineers at all experience levels who are passionate about Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) design to join a dynamic, growing team. You will contribute to the design and coordination of building systems for schools, healthcare facilities, commercial offices, and retail environments, while working in a stable, career-focused firm that provides strong training, mentorship, and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical and broader MEP systems, including HVAC, chilled water, hot water, and fire protection systems, for regional projects in the education, healthcare, business, and retail sectors.
Develop and refine detailed construction drawings and design documents using AutoCAD, and collaborate closely with CAD operators to ensure accuracy, coordination, and timely completion of deliverables.
Support and perform project management activities on small and medium-sized projects, including planning tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating with other engineers, designers, and project stakeholders.
Execute engineering design tasks on large and complex projects under the direction of a principal engineer, ensuring that all design elements integrate effectively with other disciplines and building systems.
Interface and coordinate with other personnel involved in the project, including internal engineering teams and external partners, to resolve design issues and maintain project schedules.
Apply knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures to ensure that all designs comply with applicable regulations and best practices.
Participate in redline review processes, incorporating feedback and revisions into drawings and design documents to improve clarity and constructability.
Demonstrate a strong desire to understand, refine, and expand expertise in the design of MEP/FP systems for schools, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, and retail spaces.
Utilize MS Office tools to prepare reports, calculations, schedules, and project documentation that support design decisions and client communication.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure that mechanical and MEP designs align with overall building design objectives, including energy efficiency, comfort, and operational reliability.
Essential Skills
5-10+ years of design experience in the engineering field, with a focus on mechanical and MEP building systems.

Experience with Revit for building information modeling (BIM) is a plus.
Familiarity with fire protection and sprinkler system design.
Experience with redline processes and revising drawings based on review comments.
Exposure to or experience in MEP engineering across commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects.
