The mission of the Weissman Center is to provide meaningful international educational experiences for Baruch undergraduate and graduate students, support scholarly research and teaching with an international business perspective, and contribute to the economic life of New York City.
The Academic Center Director (Deputy Director) is part of the leadership team of the Weissman Center for International Business reporting to the Center's Senior Academic Director and is a member of the Center's advisory council. The Deputy Director works closely with Weissman Center stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that support curricular and co-curricular student services, faculty research and teaching and strategic partnerships. The Deputy Director has overall responsibility for Weissman Center operations and supports the design, development, and implementation of funding proposals. In carrying out the position, the Deputy Director brings to bear his/her significant professional knowledge and experience related to the Center's mission and conducts relevant research to develop strategies and approaches that will produce measurable outcomes, responsive to the goals of the College, faculty, alumni, donors, and strategic partners. The Deputy Director works closely with relevant Baruch units, including the Baruch College Fund, the Office of Procurement, the Office of College Advancement, the Alumni Office, and the Zicklin Dean's Office to monitor and implement relevant administrative and financial regulations, policies, and procedures and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Partnerships
Identify and advance strategic partnerships leading to the launch of various skill-based training programs, scholarships, experiential learning opportunities, and co-curricular initiatives.
Align new initiatives to the school's and the universities' missions, providing critical functions for future growth to support the efforts for long-term development of the unit.
Implement activities which foster innovation in international business education and research, informed by industry needs, leveraging the academic and technological strengths of the institution.
Develop and implement funding proposals (foundations, alumni, government and others).
Finance and Budget
Develop budgets and manage expenditure throughout the year. Manage each of the revenue streams.
Provide analysis of historical growth and projections in enrollment, revenue, costs, and new Programs.
Develop financial plans and cost models for all new initiatives; execute established agreements.
Review and approve all expenses including vendor relationships and consultant agreements.
Management
Perform duties as a member of the senior leadership and management team and represent the Senior Academic Director as requested.
Administrative responsibility for the implementation of activities among the Center's different areas including administration and finance, communications, marketing, and partnerships in support of the Center's strategic goals.
Supervise the accounting unit, international business programs, internship programs and office administration.
Responsible for oversight and implementation of compliance activities.
Evaluate the progress against goals for the organization.
Provide a bridge between operations and leadership.
Board and committee member for a variety of Baruch and external organizations, including the WCIB Advisory Council.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in International Business, International Affairs or a related area.
Leadership and management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially in a team environment and ability to manage staff.
Deep interest in and passion for the Center's mission.
Demonstrated interest in International Business.
Ability to establish and maintain external partnerships.
Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent written communications skills.
Experience with both government, for-profit and non-profit organizations with an international focus.
Experience developing funding proposals and writing reports.
International experience (e.g., foreign language proficiency and studying overseas)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$126,333- $141,643; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
