This position is located in St. Paul and may have the ability to telework, after satisfactory completion of training and probationary period.
This position exists:1) to administer a general program email inbox, 2) to perform data entry for bovine health programs, including data related to Animal Disease Traceability and Livestock Concentration Points, 3) to process livestock Certificates of Veterinary Inspection, 4) to answer telephone lines including the import permit line for incoming cattle, sheep, and goats, 5) to enter disease testing and vaccination records; 6) to assist customers ordering official identification ear tags for livestock; and 7) to assist callers with questions about other Board programs.

Typing/KeyboardingskillssufficienttouseMicrosoft Wordorequivalent software,sufficientto producememosandcorrespondenceinanefficientandtimelymanner,grammaticallycorrect,in proper format and free of spelling errors.
Spreadsheetskillssufficienttousespreadsheetsoftwareapplications,suchasMicrosoftExcel,to develop and modify spreadsheets and enter, compile, store, and retrieve data.
Data entry skills sufficient to input and verify data from source documents into a database with a high level of accuracy and speed, maintain accurate records, and locate and correct data entry errors.
DataBaseManagementskills sufficienttopullrelevantdatafromdatabasesandsoftware applications, and compile in appropriate report format.

Preferred Qualifications
AdministrativeAssistant degree(AAS-HealthCare,Legal,etc.)orexperienceproviding administrative, clerical, or paraprofessional support in an office setting.
Experienceworking withorknowledge oflivestockagriculture,basicanimalhusbandry, veterinary medicine, and animal diseases sufficient to knowledgably communicate with producers, veterinarians, and agency officials.
Knowledgeofstateandfederallawsandguidelinesrelatingtoanimal diseaseprograms.
Knowledgeofgeneralofficeequipment,practices,proceduressufficienttodevelopandimprove work procedures and forms.
Effectiveoralandwritten communicationskillssufficienttoworkconstructivelyandcollaborate with a wide variety of individuals including the public and others within State and Federal government agencies.
Excellentorganizationalskillssufficienttomaintainmanual andelectronicfilesandprioritize work assignments and a strong attention to detail.
ExperiencewithsoftwareincludingMicrosoftOfficeOutlook,Word,andExcel;andAdobe Acrobat.
Abilitytoberesourcefulandself-motivatedandworkwithout closesupervision.

The Board of Animal Health will not sponsor applicants for work visas, including STEM OPT extensions. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US.
