Marklund in Geneva is hiring a Staff Accountant!

Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Staff Accountant. This is a full-time position based out of the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, IL. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. The salary for this position is $65,000- $70,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Hybrid option available with two work from home days a week after completion of the 90 day training period. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations - the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities include:

Review and approve account distributions for A/P vouchers.

Verify cash receipts for Marklund vs. check log

Reconciliation of all bank statements

Acquire/maintain skills to run the accounting software utilized by Marklund

Process fixed assets

Prepare journal entries

Charities cash receipts reconciliation

Preparation for assigned audit schedules

Participate in budget preparation

Prepare assigned cost report schedules

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

2 or more years of accounting/finance experience preferred

Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its function and environmental requirements
