Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description
The Senior Accountant will perform comprehensive accounting responsibilities for a portfolio of multiple entities, including both for-profit and non-profit organizations. This role focuses on full-cycle general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of companies, including a mix of for-profit and non-profit entities.
Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
Handle accounts receivable activities, including recording receipts and monitoring outstanding balances.
Prepare and post journal entries as needed to ensure accurate and complete general ledger records.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules in accordance with accounting policies.
Perform bank statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Lead or support month-end close activities, including preparation and review of financial statements.
Prepare financial statements and reports in strict compliance with GAAP and established accounting procedures.
Apply accrual accounting principles to properly record revenues and expenses.
Utilize ERP and accounting software, including MRI Commercial Real Estate and QuickBooks Online, to process and report financial data.
Use advanced Excel functions, such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, to analyze, reconcile, and report financial information.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality when working in close proximity to executives and sensitive financial discussions.
Collaborate with a small, cohesive accounting team, contributing to a professional yet conversational work environment.
Support ongoing workload demands and demonstrate flexibility to assist with extended or evolving assignments as needed.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
Inactive or active CPA credential.
5+ years of general ledger (GL) accounting experience.
Strong experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.
Demonstrated experience with accrual-based accounting.
Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger reconciliations.
Proven ability to manage month-end close processes and deadlines.
Excellent understanding of GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and financial reports.
Experience working with ERP or accounting software systems.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with MRI Commercial Real Estate software is highly desired.
Experience with QuickBooks Online accounting software is preferred.
Background working with both for-profit and non-profit entities is beneficial.
Comfort working in a small, tight-knit accounting team.
Ability to adapt to a high and steady workload with potential for extended engagement.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a somewhat conversational, yet professional environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office located near Highway 100 and just south of Highway 55. The role is fully on-site, five days per week, due to the hands-on nature of the work and the need for in-person training and collaboration. The Senior Accountant will work as part of a small team of four, including an Assistant Controller, within the president's suite of the office. The environment is highly confidential, with frequent executive-level conversations occurring nearby. The team is cohesive, professional, and supportive, balancing focused, heads-down work with a friendly and conversational atmosphere. The workload is consistently strong, offering stability and potential for extended engagement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $53.00/hr.
