Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (mid-level) to support power systems design and analysis, with a strong emphasis on arch flash analysis for commercial and industrial facilities. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with project teams, clients, and partners to deliver safe, reliable, and code-compliance electrical systems in accordance with industry standards. This position requires candidates to be located in Lakewood, CO or surrounding areas and is on-site with possibility of hybrid schedule.
Essential Functions:
Prepare electrical studies including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, grounding, and arc-flash analysis:
o Develop electrical system models in SKM and ETAP
o Write technical reports summarizing results from electrical model analysis.
o Correctly interpret results and make appropriate recommendations
o Participate in electrical field surveys to gather information for electrical model creation
Apply knowledge of electrical engineering to create electrical studies, produce detailed electrical design drawings, and evaluate existing electrical equipment.
Utilize working knowledge of the NEC and other applicable industry standards to support design and analysis work.
Implement requirements from NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584.
Understand best power distribution design practices and relevant codes and standards.
Prepare clear, concise technical reports summarizing methodologies, results, and engineering recommendations.
Interpret analysis results and recommended practical solutions to improve system safety, reliability, and code compliance.
Apply electrical engineering principals to develop design drawings, evaluate existing systems, and support system upgrades or modifications.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to support successful project execution.
Represent the company in client and project meetings, communicating technical information clearly and professionally.
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
3-5 years of experience in electrical design, analysis, and/or commissioning for commercial, industrial, or utility systems.
Hands on experience performing power system studies, including short-circuit, coordination, and arch flash analysis.
Proficiency with SKM software, formal SKM training is a plus; proven experience with ETAP software.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and the NEC.
Experience with electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout and arch flash hazard awareness.
Ability to interpret technical data, perform analysis and clearly communicate results through written reports.
Field experience in commercial or industrial environments, including data collection and site assessments.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
Willingness to travel (approximately 1-5 days every other month).
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain; Professional Engineering (PE) license or active pursuit of licensure.

Candidate must pass a background check, which may include verification of employment, education, and other records in accordance with state, local, and federal requirements.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain all criteria for access to federal and secure sites is required.
