The Construction Safety Manager 4 oversees and coordinates construction and production activities with a strong focus on electrical and construction safety, quality, and operational efficiency. This role leads safety efforts across commissioning phases and phased turnover environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, improving production methods, and supporting a safe and efficient work site. The position requires regular site walks, active participation in safety and coordination meetings, and close collaboration with technical and administrative teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers in a construction and commissioning environment.
Implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
Review daily operations and collaborate with technical and administrative staff to resolve production, processing, and safety-related problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance data to detect and address production problems.
Plan, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, discharge staff, while resolving personnel issues and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
Set and monitor product and work standards to ensure quality finished products and safe work practices.
Prepare, maintain, and update production reports, personnel records, and safety documentation as required.
Attend scheduled construction coordination meetings on a weekly basis to align on project status, risks, and safety considerations.
Conduct site walks weekly or daily when onsite, actively observing work practices, identifying hazards, and verifying compliance with safety standards.
Document at least three observations per site visit and communicate these observations to relevant partners to drive corrective actions and improvements.
Complete weekly activity reports, capturing safety observations, production issues, and follow-up actions in a clear and timely manner.
Attend scheduled safety meetings, contributing to discussions on incident trends, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) and audits to investigate incidents, identify systemic issues, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Monitor leading safety indicators such as the number and quality of field observations per week, participation in RCAs and audits, and behavioral safety engagement.
Align safety performance with lagging indicators including incident rates, repeat issues, and severity trends, and implement actions to reduce risk.
Evaluate the quality of hazard identification, ensuring that observations focus on meaningful risks and effective mitigation strategies rather than just quantity.
Support safe work practices related to energized systems, commissioning phases, material handling, ground disturbance, working at heights, confined space entry, noise, heat extremes, and chemical handling.
Promote and enforce compliance with electrical safety standards, including NFPA 70E and related tiered safety programs.
Contribute to safe operations in phased turnover environments, retrofits, and tenant construction where construction and operations overlap, ensuring clear communication and coordination.

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
High school diploma or GED.
8-10 years of experience in commissioning and construction safety, including electrical safety, NFPA 70E, and tiered safety programs.
Experience with energized systems and commissioning phases, including planning and executing work around live electrical equipment.
Experience applying electrical safety standards such as NFPA 70E and supporting tiered safety programs for complex projects.
Experience with ground disturbance, working at heights, material handling, confined space operations, noise exposure, heat extremes, and chemical handling.
Experience working in phased turnover environments, retrofits, and tenant construction where construction and operations overlap.
Ability to attend and contribute to weekly construction coordination meetings and scheduled safety meetings.
Ability to perform regular site walks, document observations, and communicate findings clearly to project partners.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate production reports, personnel records, and safety documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
Experience participating in root cause analyses (RCAs) and audits for safety and quality incidents.
Demonstrated ability to use leading indicators such as field observations and behavioral engagement to drive safety improvements.
Experience monitoring and responding to lagging indicators including incident rates, repeat issues, and severity trends.
Familiarity with phased turnover and retrofit projects, including coordination of construction activities in operational facilities.
Experience in tenant construction and environments where construction and operations overlap.
Proficiency with Bluebeam for reviewing drawings, plans, and documentation.
Experience with Primavera P6 (P6) scheduling software is beneficial for candidates who have prior P6 experience.
Work Environment
This role is based in a construction environment in Texas and typically follows a full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. The position involves regular presence on active construction sites, including phased turnover environments, retrofits, and tenant construction where operations and construction activities may overlap. Work conditions can include exposure to noise, heat extremes, and varying weather, as well as tasks related to material handling, ground disturbance, working at heights, confined spaces, and chemical handling. The role requires the use of specific equipment, including a monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse, and industry-standard safety gear. Required personal protective equipment includes a Class 2 safety helmet, a Class 2 or higher safety vest, cut and impact resistant gloves, ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor, and composite toe work boots made of leather or leather alternative that extend a minimum of four inches above the ankle. Low-cut or sneaker-style footwear is not permitted. A Class 2 or higher reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather is also required. The work environment emphasizes a strong safety culture, active engagement in safety meetings and site walks, and consistent use of safety equipment and procedures to protect all personnel on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $98.00/hr.
