THE POSITION
Start a meaningful job as a Custodial Worker 1 with Wernersville State Hospital. In this role, you will help keep living areas, offices, and other spaces clean and safe for everyone on campus. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position helps maintain clean, safe, and orderly areas throughout the hospital campus. Your work supports patient care by providing custodial services, responding to cleaning needs, and assisting with linen delivery. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
Daily Cleaning:Clean living units, offices, hallways, and other areas across the hospital campus
Linen Duties:Deliver, sort, and prepare linens and clothing for use throughout the facility
Equipment Use:Operate custodial equipment safely and report needed repairs
Emergency Response:Handle urgent cleaning needs such as spills, flooding, or isolation procedures
Outdoor Tasks:Assist with snow shoveling, walkway cleaning, and maintaining building entrances
Basic Maintenance:Replace light bulbs and assist with moving furniture and larger items when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change based on operational needs.
Rotating weekends and holidays as assigned
Overtime and travel may be required
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
