Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This leadership-level role sits at the core of the electrical team's technical delivery, serving as a key expert for external customer projects across complex commercial and industrial applications. You will work within a multi-discipline electrical and power team, leading the design and implementation of advanced power systems while supporting multiple projects simultaneously. The position requires broad and deep expertise in power-related skills and technologies, along with a strong focus on technical strategy and mentorship of other engineers.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for multiple concurrent commercial and industrial electrical projects, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
Serve as a primary technical resource for customers, supporting complex power distribution and industrial automation applications.
Lead the design and review of electrical systems, including power distribution design and relay programming, in collaboration with a multi-discipline electrical and power team.
Develop, review, and maintain detailed electrical drawings and documentation using tools such as AutoCAD.
Apply advanced electrical engineering principles to design safe, reliable, and efficient power systems for industrial environments.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support modernization projects, enterprise MES initiatives, and new customer partnerships.
Provide technical strategic leadership, helping shape approaches to expanding automation capabilities in sectors such as food and beverage, advanced manufacturing, and industrial processing.
Mentor and develop early-career engineers by providing hands-on guidance, technical coaching, and feedback on project work.
Manage and prioritize multiple project assignments efficiently, maintaining strong organization and time management throughout the project lifecycle.
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to build strong, long-term client partnerships.
Essential Skills
Strong experience in electrical engineering with experience in complex commercial and industrial applications.
Proficiency in electrical design and power distribution design for industrial environments.
Hands-on experience with relay programming in power and automation systems.
Ability to use AutoCAD or similar tools to create and modify electrical drawings and documentation.
Familiarity with the Windows operating system for engineering tools and project documentation.
Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to handle and complete multiple project assignments efficiently.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective, collaborative working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship within an engineering team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working within a multi-discipline electrical and power team environment.
experience in industrial automation, power services, or related fields supporting commercial and industrial clients.
Interest in or experience with modernization projects, enterprise MES work, and advanced automation initiatives.
Ability to grow into Sr engineering, project leadership, or specialized technical roles.

Work Environment
You will work in a mix of office and industrial environments as part of a multi-discipline electrical and power team. While performing your duties, you may frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. On occasion, you may work in wet or humid conditions, at high or precarious locations, or in areas with fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. Some tasks may involve exposure to extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level is usually moderate, but certain locations or tasks may expose you to very loud noise. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
