Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Comptroller Department - 700 of SUPSHIP GULF COAST. Salary Range GS-11: $74,678 - $97,087 PA GS-12: $89,508 - $116,362 PA Responsibilities You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or system of budget administration including formulation of budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities. You will present and defend budget estimates before authorities, review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of the organization's programs and administrative operations. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities. You will identify, analyze and resolve a range of budgetary problems such as development of alternative methods of funding. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting financial analysis related to budget formulation, evaluating budget requests, monitoring obligations and expenditures, or interpreting budgetary policies and practices for organizational programs. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing budget requests, financial documentation, or monitoring obligations and expenditures in support of organizational programs. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: FOR GS-11 GRADE LEVEL ONLY: - Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; -OR- - Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; -OR- - Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; -OR- - A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
