Position Description:
CGI is seeking an Desktop Support Technician to support the lifecycle management of end user computing assets in a fast paced enterprise environment. This role is responsible for computer staging, imaging, provisioning, inventory management, asset tracking, equipment refresh activities, and end user hardware support. The successful candidate will ensure accurate inventory control, maintain chain of custody for IT assets, support laptop deployments, and assist with equipment disposition processes while delivering excellent customer service.

This role is located at a client site in Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL or Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is seeking an Desktop Support Technician to support the lifecycle management of end user computing assets in a fast paced enterprise environment. This role is responsible for computer staging, imaging, provisioning, inventory management, asset tracking, equipment refresh activities, and end user hardware support. The successful candidate will ensure accurate inventory control, maintain chain of custody for IT assets, support laptop deployments, and assist with equipment disposition processes while delivering excellent customer service.
This position requires a hands on technical professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide timely support for Windows based devices and Microsoft 365 applications. The role is fully onsite and plays a critical part in ensuring employees receive properly configured and tracked technology assets.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 2+ years of experience in IT asset management, desktop support, endpoint deployment, inventory management, or a related technical support function.
. Experience supporting enterprise IT asset management and inventory control processes.
. Strong hands on experience staging, imaging, configuring, and deploying Windows 10 and Windows 11 laptops.
. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Edge.
. Ability to troubleshoot common desktop, network connectivity, peripheral, and performance related issues.
. Experience utilizing asset management and ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
. Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in inventory tracking, reporting, and database updates.
. Understanding of asset lifecycle management, including provisioning, refreshes, returns, and disposal processes.
. Ability to maintain chain of custody and follow established compliance and data retention procedures.
. Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end users.
. Self motivated with the ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision.
. Comfortable working in a physically active environment, including lifting and moving IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
. Ability to multitask and prioritize work efficiently in a high volume operational setting.
Desired Skillset:
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar certifications are advantageous but not required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,300.00 $110,100.00.
