Warehouse & Forklift Worker - 1st Shift - Medical Device Company - $20.16/hr
Job Description
The Material Handler performs a full range of shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities in a warehouse environment. This role prepares and processes domestic and international shipments, receives and inspects incoming materials, and maintains accurate inventory records to support manufacturing operations. The Material Handler uses warehouse equipment and computerized systems to ensure products and materials move efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Prepare shipping documents, instructions, and other required paperwork to coordinate the shipping and freighting of pumps, cartridges, and materials.
Pack and prepare products and materials for shipment in accordance with customer requests and company standards.
Maintain accurate records of orders shipped, including weights, shipping charges, and related documentation.
Ensure all shipping documentation complies with governmental and regulatory agency requirements.
Schedule and coordinate shipment deadlines with Customer Service to ensure shipments and freight arrive at their destinations within established timelines.
Operate and maintain computerized shipping systems and related equipment, including a 100 lb scale, 300 lb hand truck, pallet jack, bubble pack dispenser, and bander.
Receive incoming materials, services, and supplies by unpacking and verifying goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
Maintain records of received goods and identify or reject unsatisfactory items as needed.
Transfer approved materials to proper stockroom locations or deliver packages to internal customers.
Coordinate incoming shipments of goods authorized for return with Customer Service, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.
Receive product from quarantine and production into finished goods, verify accuracy against shop orders or sterile processing logs, and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
Examine stock levels and distribute materials to inventory locations and manufacturing lines.
Pull materials to support work orders and inventory requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform daily cycle counts and support the goal of 100% accuracy for all finished goods inventory.
Complete daily inventory data transactions in the ERP or related systems.
Respond to inventory inquiries and provide clear, accurate information to internal stakeholders.
Communicate primarily via email while on-site and respond to coworkers in a timely manner during working hours.
Perform other related duties as assigned in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience, including material handling in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with data entry using an ERP system.
Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment.
Proficiency with pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies.
Experience using automated shipping equipment such as systems similar to the FedEx café.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Basic math skills for weights, counts, and shipping calculations.
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Demonstrated word processing and data entry skills.
Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain the company's forklift certification in good standing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory California driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with international shipping processes and documentation.
Background in inventory counting, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
Experience with picking and packing in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Comfort using computerized shipping and inventory systems and responding to email communications.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with Customer Service, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance teams.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
Reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and supporting production schedules.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse environment that supports manufacturing and finished goods distribution. The team maintains a casual dress code, with pants required, and employees must wear steel-toed boots for safety. The work involves regular use of pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, computerized shipping systems, scales, bubble pack dispensers, and banding equipment. Most communication occurs through email while on-site, and employees are expected to respond promptly during working hours, though there is no expectation to access email on personal phones. The environment is described as laid back and team-oriented, with a strong focus on collaboration, culture fit, and completing required work efficiently and safely. The primary shift for this position is first shift, Tuesday through Friday, from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.16 - $20.16/hr.
