Job Title: Field Service TechnicianJob Description
The Field Service Technician erects and installs batching and mixing equipment at customer sites and supports plant start-up and troubleshooting. This project-based role works under the direction of a Field Services Manager or designate and involves extensive travel, hands-on construction work, and frequent interaction with customers and internal teams to ensure equipment is installed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Erect and install all mechanical equipment in batching and mixing plants at customer sites.
Verify that all equipment is on site, properly staged, and ready for installation.
Confirm that equipment footings are located and constructed correctly before installation.
Complete detailed daily and weekly reports documenting project progress, issues, and resolutions.
Communicate promptly with the supervisor regarding delays, issues, and requests for change orders.
Interact professionally with customers as needed to coordinate work and address questions.
Clean up the job site at the end of each day and ensure all equipment and materials are properly secured.
Assist with plant start-up activities, including equipment testing and troubleshooting.
Perform electrical, mechanical, and construction-related tasks associated with installation and service.
Apply strong construction skills to resolve on-site challenges and maintain project quality.
Operate equipment such as telescoping forklifts and aerial lifts safely and effectively.
Use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, portable welders, cutting torches, rigging chains and straps, come-alongs, and ladders to complete installation tasks.
Follow all safety rules, policies, and regulations and promote a safe work environment.
Work independently or as part of a crew to complete projects on time and within budget.
Adapt to new situations and changing project requirements within a reasonable time frame.
Perform all additional duties assigned by the Field Services Manager or designate.
Essential Skills
Strong construction skills with the ability to resolve on-site challenges effectively.
Ability to read and understand engineering assembly drawings.
Mechanical aptitude and proficiency working with hands on complex equipment.
Electrical, troubleshooting, repair, service, and construction experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a crew in a project-based environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and complete work on time and on budget with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal communication skills for interaction with supervisors, crew members, and customers.
Ability to work in all weather conditions at outdoor job sites.
Physical strength and endurance to perform manual labor and handle equipment and tools safely.
Proficiency with basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements, and fractions.
Ability to operate equipment such as telescoping forklifts and aerial lifts.
Proficiency in using basic construction tools including hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, portable welders, cutting torches, rigging chains and straps, come-alongs, and ladders.
Commitment to working safely and following all safety rules, policies, and regulations.
Experience in commercial and industrial projects and industrial controls.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in construction or a related field.
Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods.
Previous experience with batch and mixing plant equipment installation is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new job-site situations and requirements.
Strong problem-solving skills in field conditions with limited supervision.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively for project assignments.
Work Environment
This role is primarily based on job sites, with most work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires extensive travel, typically 80-90%, with project durations commonly ranging from 1 to 3 weeks at a time. The work environment is non-union and highly hands-on, involving the use of construction tools and equipment such as telescoping forklifts, aerial lifts, hand and power tools, measuring tools, portable welders, cutting torches, rigging chains and straps, come-alongs, and ladders. Field Service Technicians work on active construction and industrial sites, collaborating with supervisors, crew members, and customers while following strict safety policies and procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
