Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting. This role offers in-house training and the opportunity to work closely with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the laboratory.

Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives regarding construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.

Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.

Adhere to strict safety standards.

Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

Progressively assume increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Essential Skills

Strong communication skills.

Strong computer skills to log daily field reports and send emails.

Experience with ACI, concrete, construction materials testing, and concrete inspection.

Familiarity with nuclear density gauge equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.

Previous construction materials testing experience is a plus.

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
