Summary About the Position: This Position is for the DoWEA Mid Atlantic District - Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Responsibilities Train administrators, teachers, specialists and other educators in the use of the student information systems and provides information to the District Superintendents regarding program needs, status, and recommendations for improvements. Prioritize all District student information services projects in collaboration with Headquarters Information Technology Student Information Systems personnel to include both short and long-term timelines. Develop goals and standards to include those that support the DoDEA Community Strategic Plan. Develop reports, filters or queries, etc., and retrieve and present data. Assess the system wide effectiveness in the defined program area(s) by monitoring the implementation of curriculum/performance standards. Utilize student information application software systems that support the collection, maintenance and reporting of K-12 school and district educational management data. The course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, educational administration, or comparable activities in an elementary and/or secondary school which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PreK-l2th grade education and training. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of specialized experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS). Examples of acceptable specialized SIS experience include: Experience in collecting, managing, extracting and analyzing data for the support and evaluation of school education programs; experience developing reports, filters, queries, etc. and retrieving and presenting data from data management systems; experience working cooperatively with others by serving as the subject matter expert for all SIS program modules and other management information systems; experience training and supporting educational managers, teachers, etc. in the use of data management systems, including registration, scheduling, attendance, and grading systems. Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards in any PreK-12th grade endorsement area. The work may be evaluated by the graduate division of a regionally accredited university and declared the equivalent of similar undergraduate or graduate work in a U.S. institution. Graduates of non-accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admittance to graduate school and completion of a minimum of 5 SH of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
