Responsibilities As an integral member of the Loan Operations Department, this position is mainly responsible for handling telephone inquiries from internal and external customers. Additionally, this role will review and complete research requests for all loan applications as well as process loan payoffs, and handling of Credit Bureau and billing disputes. Handle telephone inquiries and research requests from internal and external customers (ie. loan payoffs, payment history requests, billing disputes, and interest calculations) and perform appropriate follow-up tasks including ongoing communication with the requestor Handle Credit Bureau disputes within the allotted time frame Prepare letters to customers as appropriate Complete loan information requests from the government or other financial institutions Process all return mail for entire Loan Operations department Cooperate with other members of the department to achieve departmental goals Other related duties as assigned or directed Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion Provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Loan Operations Department and the bank in achieving their annual goals Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Professionalism Effective verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Ability to work accurately in a time-sensitive environment Excellent computer and typing skills Research and problem solving skills Proficient in Word and Excel Prior experience in related field preferred High School Diploma or GED required Professionalism Effective verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Ability to work accurately in a time-sensitive environment Excellent computer and typing skills Research and problem solving skills Proficient in Word and Excel * Prior experience in related field preferredCommunity Bank System, Inc. is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer who fully embraces diversity - minorities/fem ales/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity.
