Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Environmental Engineering. These positions focus on projects related to corrosion mitigation and technology development.
Primary responsibilities include conducting laboratory and field experiments, supporting project management activities, supervising undergraduate and/or graduate students, and disseminating research findings. These roles will contribute to fast-paced, applied research projects, and individuals must be able to adapt quickly to evolving project needs and timelines.
Additional responsibilities may include contributing to grant proposal development. The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively convey technical information to a wide range of audiences, including entrepreneurs, industry partners, and investors.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D. in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in chemical environmental research, with emphasis in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, surface chemistry, and electrochemical/corrosion chemistry
Demonstrated experience in microbiological environmental research, including environmental microbiology with complex communities and/or environmental molecular microbiology
Demonstrated track record of publishing high-quality articles in peer-reviewed journals.
