The Account Manager leads and manages relationships with existing customers, focusing on both organic sales growth and new business development opportunities. This role serves as the primary internal point of contact for key clients, coordinating new product development and managing existing business to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The Account Manager understands customer needs, oversees critical details related to customer management and retention, and ensures timely and accurate communication across internal teams.
Responsibilities
Own or jointly own relationships with existing clients to identify sales growth and new business development opportunities through product portfolio analysis and innovation presentations.
Serve as the primary internal point of contact for key clients, ensuring consistent follow-through and follow-up on all customer issues and requests.
Work directly with research and development (R&D) teams to facilitate new product development projects and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Manage customer quotes from initial submission through to completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication with all stakeholders.
Attend relevant industry trade shows to represent the company, support sales initiatives, and stay informed about market trends and opportunities.
Schedule and coordinate on-site client meetings and facility tours to strengthen relationships and showcase capabilities.
Travel as needed to conduct in-person presentations for existing customers and support business growth initiatives.
Identify and recommend process efficiency opportunities within the account management workflow to improve service and profitability.
Manage the development of commercial agreements with customers, ensuring terms are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives.
Oversee and manage the product portfolio for assigned customers, ensuring product mix, pricing, and positioning support growth and retention.
Ensure timely, accurate, and professional communication with customers regarding orders, projects, issues, and general inquiries.
Work closely with supply chain, labeling, and quality teams to deliver strong customer service and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Support data entry and order processing activities related to customer accounts, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Meet and exceed sales targets and account growth objectives while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills
2-3 years of customer service or sales experience, preferably in account management.
Experience in account management, ideally in the nutritional supplement, over-the-counter (OTC), or skin care industry.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and successfully managing customer business details.
Basic understanding of the nutritional supplement, OTC, and skin care markets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify growth opportunities and resolve customer issues.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, and fluent use of basic Microsoft Office functions.
Computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn and use business software tools.
Preferred experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software or EPR systems.
Self-motivated and results-oriented approach to managing accounts and achieving goals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
High attention to detail for data entry, order processing, and documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Preferred college degree or 3+ years of contract manufacturing experience.
Experience in the nutritional supplement or skin care industry is highly advantageous.
Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
Experience with CRM tools to manage customer interactions and sales pipelines.
Exposure to trade shows and customer-facing presentations.
Comfort working in a growing organization with evolving processes.
Interest in career growth toward an outside sales role.
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with R&D, supply chain, label, and quality teams.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in St. Petersburg, with regular in-person presence required during the week. The Account Manager works closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, supply chain, labeling, quality, and sales in a supportive and collaborative environment. The company has experienced significant growth over the past two years and continues to expand, offering a dynamic setting with opportunities for professional development and progression into outside sales roles. The position involves using Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and ERP systems as part of daily responsibilities, as well as occasional travel to attend industry trade shows and conduct in-person client meetings and presentations.

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
