Responsibilities: Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping parts and supplies. Develop and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities. Monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of parts and supplies. Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel. Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities. Respond to customers\' or shippers\' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services. Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets and equipment, and order testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary. Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials. Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel. Direct and supervise employees engaged in inventory-taking, reconciling inventory, or performing specific tasks such as loading or unloading unusually large items. Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties. Provide assistance or direction to stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers when required.
