Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead oversees daily production activities in a fast-paced, technology-driven manufacturing environment, ensuring that quality, safety, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. This role combines hands-on leadership with strong communication and organizational skills to guide hourly employees, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement across the department. The Manufacturing Lead serves as a key point of coordination between production teams and leadership, maintaining efficient workflow, adherence to documented procedures, and a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Participate in shift start-up meetings with the department team to align on daily goals, expectations, and production priorities.
Communicate current priorities, production targets, ongoing issues, process updates, expectations, and quality goals to the team, ensuring everyone has the information needed to perform effectively.
Attend daily recap production and shipping meetings when designated leadership is not present and represent the department professionally and accurately.
Direct hourly employees by assigning and coordinating daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and output requirements.
Determine and help develop methods and procedures that improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality within the department.
Utilize efficient and effective flow processes for work-in-progress (WIP) to minimize delays, bottlenecks, and disruptions to production.
Prepare accurate daily productivity reports and ensure timely reporting of production metrics to leadership.
Evaluate issues and potential problems proactively, addressing them quickly to minimize impact on operations and customer commitments.
Ensure 5S housekeeping duties are clearly assigned, monitored, and completed daily to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
Maintain open and transparent communication with hourly team members regarding goals, performance, accomplishments, and areas for improvement.
Monitor department key performance indicators (KPIs) for results and trends, and use this data to identify opportunities for improvement and corrective actions.
Develop contingencies and short-term processes as needed to address changes in demand, staffing levels, or production challenges.
Identify bottlenecks that affect area goals or standards and implement actions to resolve them, escalating issues when appropriate.
Develop hourly employees through structured training, coaching, and mentoring to build skills, enhance performance, and support career growth.
Lead by example in attendance, attitude, and performance, reinforcing a culture of quality work, accountability, and urgency.
Essential Skills
Advanced understanding of manufacturing documentation, including Manufacturing Process Instruction (MPI) documents, with strict adherence to these standards.
Ability to train employees on department MPI documents and ensure consistent application on the production floor.
Demonstrated experience working on assignments that are complex in nature, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Considerable judgment and initiative in resolving production issues and making recommendations for process and performance improvement.
Ability to determine methods and procedures for new assignments and implement them effectively in a production environment.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team and lead or provide guidance to lower-level nonexempt associates.
Recognized expertise in assigned job functions and related tasks within a manufacturing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to give and receive constructive feedback and maintain open dialogue with team members.
Ability to promote quality work while maintaining a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines and production goals.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility located near the Las Vegas Speedway, operating in a fast-paced, technology-driven production environment. The facility supports high-volume manufacturing of server, storage, and networking solutions, requiring strong attention to detail, adherence to documented processes, and effective teamwork. Standard operations run Monday through Friday, with a baseline day shift of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and a swing shift of 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with potential for minor staggered start times as business needs require. Initial onboarding and training will take place on day shift, with training hours to be confirmed, and the first 60 days of production will support both shifts. The workplace actively promotes 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. Employees work primarily on the manufacturing floor throughout their shift, engaging in hands-on production activities. Dress is casual on a daily basis, reflecting a practical and comfortable production setting. Parking may be located in a nearby building lot, with a shuttle service provided to transport employees to and from the facility, supporting convenient access to the worksite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
