Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive financial management program for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Missouri. Typical work assignments will include: Planning, formulating, justifying, implementing, and administering budget and financial management activities. Providing positive recommendations and alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, costs of operations, and program accomplishments. Preparing Operating Plan district budget estimates. Preparing budget justifications for recommended allocation levels, particularly deviations from initial office submissions. Planning work to be accomplished and setting priorities in financial management. Assigning work to others based on difficulty of assignments and staff capabilities. Reviewing work completed by others to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Providing technical advice and assistance to resolve problems referred by staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To be qualified at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of financial management processes, systems, and operations in meeting established goals and objectives; providing recommendations and alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, costs of operations, and program accomplishments; and providing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to employees. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
