Job Title: Warehouse Lead
Job Description
This role leads day-to-day warehouse operations in a small, close-knit team of four, overseeing shipments, inventory, and assembly activities. You work on a first-shift schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and take on a hands-on leadership role to ensure that products are assembled, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. You manage schedules and shipments while actively participating in warehouse tasks, using your facility knowledge and forklift expertise to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Lead daily warehouse operations in a small team environment, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Oversee and participate in the assembly of aluminum steps, using hand tools and power tools to build products to specification.
Manage and coordinate shipments, including planning schedules, preparing orders, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving.
Maintain accurate warehouse inventory by organizing stock, performing counts, and tracking materials and finished goods.
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials and finished products within the facility.
Perform general warehouse management duties, including organizing work areas, maintaining cleanliness, and optimizing storage space.
Use mechanical aptitude and basic tool skills to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with products or equipment during assembly and handling.
Support all aspects of warehouse operations by stepping into any role as needed, including assembly, inventory, shipping, receiving, and general labor.
Apply facility knowledge to navigate the warehouse, locate materials, and ensure efficient product flow throughout the operation.
Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication about schedules, shipments, and inventory levels.
Essential Skills
Valid forklift certification and demonstrated ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively.
Willingness to perform any and all warehouse tasks, including assembly, inventory, shipping, receiving, and general labor.
Experience with warehouse operations such as shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and basic warehouse management.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools confidently and safely in an assembly environment.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies.
Strong facility awareness and ability to navigate and organize a warehouse environment.
Desire to grow in your career and take on increasing responsibility within the operation.
Ability to work a consistent first-shift schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a small warehouse or manufacturing operation where team members handle multiple responsibilities.
Prior experience managing or coordinating shipments and schedules in a warehouse setting.
Comfort working in a hands-on leadership role, supporting and guiding a small team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling inventory and documentation.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and support different operational areas as needed.

Standard hours are first shift, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule. You regularly use forklifts, hand tools, and power tools in an assembly and warehouse setting, handling aluminum steps and related materials. The operation is compact and efficient, and you may move between different areas of the warehouse throughout the day to support assembly, inventory, and shipping activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Olive, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
