The Lakefront Management Authority manages, controls, regulates, operates, and maintains any non-flood protection facility or improvement asset or function within a levee district within the jurisdiction of a flood protection authority.
This position serves the accounts receivable accountant for the agency.
About this Position
The Lakefront Management Authority is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization through accurate accounting, financial reporting, budget monitoring, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities may include processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, assisting with audits, and supporting budget and fiscal operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
In this role, you will:
Prepares monthly and quarterly billing statements for the five LMA properties and records related payments
Manages the billing of tenants and/or private individuals utilizing LMA properties and processes related payments
Maintains Master Lease Schedule for the LMA properties to perform scheduled CPI Adjustments, confers with LMA's real estate consultant on proper amounts, mails CPI Adjustments to tenants
Maintain and update Certificate of Insurance for lessors
Develops, maintains, and updates receivables processes to ensure compliance with current accounting practices (this includes creating and maintaining an AR desk manual.
Reconcile receivables with the cost allocation assignment in the GL
Communicated directly with lessors, auditors, banks, and brokerage firms about the account status of leased properties
Maintains full AR records for the agency and performs monthly reconciliations, ensuring correct classification of sources and allocations to the appropriate funding accounts.
