Role summary:
The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and addressing maintenance needs while overseeing junior associates and coordinating with contractors. The position requires expertise in multiple trades, adherence to safety regulations, and effective management of work orders, parts inventory, and budgets. About the team:
The Facilities Maintenance team ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of Walmart properties with minimal disruption. They manage maintenance projects, coordinate with vendors, and oversee budgets to optimize costs. Collaborating with stakeholders, the team addresses facility needs, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains quality standards. Focused on continuous improvement, they enhance operational efficiency through effective resource management and performance evaluation. By fostering clear communication and teamwork, the group drives successful project completion and upholds high standards for facility operations across stores and clubs.
What you'll do:
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities equipment and fixtures.
Inspect, clean, and repair equipment, documenting wear and recommending repairs or replacements.
Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Oversee junior associates and act as job foreman on assigned projects.
Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor compliance with quality and safety standards.
Respond promptly to emergency calls and ensure all work meets regulatory and company requirements.
Provide onsite training and technical guidance to team members.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience in preventive maintenance and equipment repair to ensure facility safety and functionality.
Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance standards.
Ability to perform and oversee major and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and technical resources.
Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
Demonstrated capability to provide onsite training and lead junior associates effectively.
Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Valid Driver's License.
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
1 year's experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
