Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
This role supports a wholesale wood distribution operation that supplies lumber to major home improvement and hardware retailers. The warehouse worker handles, prepares, and moves wood products and related materials, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, safe loading and unloading, and proper storage and labeling in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Label and scan products accurately and store them in the appropriate warehouse locations.
Identify, pull, and wrap the correct wood products and materials according to customer orders and shipping documents.
Perform banding, strapping, and wrapping of materials, including wood products, to prepare them securely for shipment.
Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport equipment using appropriate tools and methods.
Handle returns by completing all required documentation and communications in a timely and accurate manner.
Operate and work around table saws and other warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
Use RF scanners to track inventory, verify product information, and support accurate shipping and receiving processes.
Support packing, picking, general labor, packaging, unloading, loading, banding, shipping, and receiving activities as needed.
Use forklifts and pallet jacks to move, stage, and organize materials safely within the warehouse.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and equipment usage procedures.
Assist with inventory handling by labeling, counting, and verifying materials to ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, reach, and bend frequently during the shift.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Experience with packing, picking, and general labor in a warehouse or similar environment.
Experience with loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
Ability to perform banding, strapping, and wrapping of materials for shipment.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse setting.
Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
Ability to use RF scanners for labeling, tracking, and inventory control.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling and order fulfillment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate tasks and follow instructions.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively in a warehouse team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking ability to address issues as they arise.
Ability to properly use and maintain warehouse equipment, including table saws and material-handling tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in wholesale distribution, lumber, or building materials handling is beneficial.
Prior experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners is preferred.
Experience with labeling, packaging, and palletizing products for shipment is advantageous.
Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in physically demanding roles.
Comfort working outdoors and in changing weather conditions.

Work Environment
This role is primarily outdoors and in warehouse areas where temperatures can vary from hot to cold depending on the season. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on a 12-hour shift, with three paid breaks at 10:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. The environment is physically demanding and fast-paced, with frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and bending. Team members regularly lift up to 50 pounds and handle lumber and other wood products. Common equipment and tools include forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, table saws, and banding and strapping tools. The facility emphasizes safety, proper equipment use, and maintaining an organized work area.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.50/hr.
