Your Role at KIK
The Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician oversees daily technical troubleshooting and maintenance activities for tablet production lines, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency to support production objectives. This position operates within a chemical manufacturing environment and requires strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hazardous material handling requirements, and company health, safety, and environmental policies.
What You'll Do
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems.
Respond to equipment failures and emergencies to support continuous 24/7 production operations.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and analyze equipment performance to identify recurring issues and reliability improvements.
Manage equipment reliability programs, including OEE tracking, failure analysis, FMEA, asset management, and maintenance planning.
Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies based on reliability principles and historical performance data.
Apply and support predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and motor diagnostics.
Ability to work on 480v motor controls systems, VFD, motor replacement, sensor replacement, fuse replacement, understanding of PLC's, understanding of sensor functions.
Collaborate with equipment manufacturers on installation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Create and maintain maintenance SOPs, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, process fluid, instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, including VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls.
Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment manuals, and process documentation to support maintenance activities.
Train and mentor maintenance personnel while promoting best practices, safety compliance, and continuous improvement.
Work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
Support a high-volume manufacturing operation through flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call responsibilities as needed.
Assist with changeovers, setup, and cleaning of packaging equipment
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor
What You'll Bring
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
2-3 years of experience in a continuous manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automated production equipment.
Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Familiarity with PLCs, motor controls, robotics, instrumentation, and computer-controlled systems.
Experience with CMMS, maintenance planning software, and reliability analysis tools.
Ability to read and follow technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Experience working in ISO-certified or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions
Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and manufacturing environments
Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods
