Summary You will serve as an Industrial Specialist (Ships) in the Waterfront Opeartions Department (Code 300) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will act as the business agent for Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) with other activities involved in the assigned availability/contracts. You will maintain liaison with customers, ship's force, NSSA functional departments and the contactors. You will act as a fund's administrator for the assigned availability and contacts. You will coordinate planning and estimating, design specification preparation, and scheduling. You review specifications to ensure completeness and conformance to authorized work. You will be responsible for managing ship repair job orders and contracts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience negotiating ship availabilities and contracts or similar; Experience coordinating, planning and estimating ship repairs or similiar vessels; Experience reviewing ship repair budget funds for assigning contracts and orders; Experience assembling, disseminating and orating reports for weekly progress.
