Job Description
This role focuses on ensuring that in-process and finished flexible packaging products meet strict quality and regulatory standards for the healthcare market. The 2nd Shift Quality Control Associate performs precise measurements, visual inspections, and testing of materials and pouches, documents results accurately, and collaborates closely with production teams to maintain consistent product quality. Responsibilities
Check in in-process and finished products to verify they meet job order and customer specifications.
Perform strength and tensile testing using measurement tools, including rulers, and conduct measurements down to 1/64th of an inch.
Review products for correct color standards and ensure visual consistency with requirements.
Test seal strength on pouches and materials to confirm they meet defined quality and performance criteria.
Conduct detailed visual inspections and ruler measurements of pouches, making approximately ten measurements per pouch during quality checks and tests.
Identify and clearly communicate pouch quality discrepancies and defects to machine operators and relevant team members so they can correct issues promptly.
Complete all required labeling, documentation, and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to support traceability and regulatory compliance.
Pack finished products into bundles and prepare them for shipping in accordance with established procedures.
Work collaboratively in a team-based cleanroom environment with other lab and production personnel to support efficient workflow and consistent quality.
Follow cleanroom protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a controlled environment and product integrity.
Handle and test films, foils, chemicals, and peelable solutions safely and in line with established procedures.
Maintain strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy while performing repetitive tasks and sitting for extended periods.
Support continuous improvement by adhering to quality control inspection standards and escalating issues when necessary.
Essential Skills
Experience in quality control or laboratory testing, which may come from academic or industry settings, with industry experience preferred.
Ability to perform precise measurements down to 1/64th of an inch using rulers and other measurement tools.
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment such as production, manufacturing, or food service.
Reliability in terms of transportation and attendance to consistently meet shift and training schedules.
Willingness and ability to wear PPE and comply with cleanroom protocols, including restrictions on fragrances and phone use.
High school diploma with relevant quality or lab experience, or an associate degree in a related field.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, second-shift role (3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.), with 2-4 weeks of training on first shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). You'll work in a cleanroom environment alongside a small team, performing detailed inspections and measurements while seated for extended periods. The role requires strict adherence to PPE and cleanroom protocols, including steel-toed shoes and no fragrances or phone use. You'll collaborate with lab teammates and production staff in a facility that supports healthcare packaging, offering a stable, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth and advancement

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
