Job Title: Retail Associate

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours/Schedule: Wednesday (10:30-5:00), Friday and Saturday (10:30-6:00)

Department/Location: Thrift Store/Bridgehampton

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis, including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers, helping out with sorting donations, facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment, providing excellent customer service, and generating positive net income for the agency.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Independently run the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store Manager

Maintain a positive working/shopping environment.

Ensure store maintenance.

Help oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing, accessories, shoes)

Manage paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked.

Communicate with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store.

Develop a positive presence in the community to promote the agency.

Other duties as assigned.*

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the Thrift Store Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able available to work weekends and holidays

English and Spanish speaking preferred

Ability to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs)

Background in fashion retail preferred

Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environment

Strong positive interpersonal skills

Valid drivers license

Knowledge of thrift store operations a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours

May lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Working at least 22 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
