Director, North America Retail Marketing
Overview:
The Director is the primary architect of Paramounts retail marketing activations across North America. You are in charge of the overarching strategy, multi-million-dollar budgets, and high-stakes "sell-in" of marketing programs for all third-party retail accounts (including Walmart, Target, and Amazon). You will bridge the gap between national brand activations and point-of-purchase, leveraging iconic characters and stories to differentiate our brands in a rapidly evolving, omni-channel retail environment.
Responsibilities:
National Franchise Orchestration:
Direct the overarching strategy for "Paramount Takeovers" across the U.S. retail landscape
Ensure global beats for major franchises are localized and executed with consistency across all account-specific teams
Strategic Account & Sales Synergy:
Partner with the Retail Sales organization to develop future-focused Joint Business Planning (JBP)
Lead executive-level presentations to retail buyers to secure exclusive cross-category statements and premium placements
Omni-Channel Ecosystem Leadership:
Lead comprehensive marketing plans inclusive of in-store, e-commerce, and Retail Media Networks (RMNs)
Integrate Paramount+ into the shopper journey through high-value bundles (e.g., Walmart+ or Amazon Prime)
Innovation & Experiential Excellence:
Champion "First-to-Market" retail experiences, including livestream commerce, AR-driven in-store activations, and experiential pop-ups to differentiate brands at the point-of-purchase
Matrixed Organization Advocacy:
Act as the internal "Voice of the Retailer," ensuring retailer needs and insights are integrated into brand strategies
Navigate a complex matrix (Studio, Licensing, and Ad Sales) to ensure retail mandates are fully adopted
Data-Driven Performance:
Develop measurable frameworks and dashboards to optimize programs using A/B testing, ROI metrics, and consumer insights
Translate competitive analysis into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders
Fiscal & Agency Oversight:
Own the total U.S. Retail Marketing budget, including tracking, reconciliation, and ROI-based allocation
Lead agency briefing and creative oversight to ensure all elements meet brand and legal guidelines
Inclusive Leadership:
Build and mentor a high-performing team by setting clear KPIs and fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and inclusivity
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of Retail Marketing experience, specifically within a mass retail environment (Walmart, Target, or Amazon)
Remarkable presentation and negotiating skills with the ability to demonstrate "executive-level clarity" when managing multiple senior stakeholders
Deep knowledge of the retail marketplace, P&Ls, and budget management
Proven ability to collaborate, influence, and influence at all levels of a matrixed organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a deep knowledge of Retail Media Networks (Walmart Connect, Roundel, etc.)
Ability to travel frequently for key retail partner meetings and market visits
Additional Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $139,200.00 - 208,800.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
