General Manager | Cambria Hotel Rapid City near Mount Rushmore | Hotel Operations & Hospitality Leadership JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager for the Cambria Hotel Rapid City near Mount Rushmore is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, financial performance, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, sales growth, and market positioning of this upscale hotel. The General Manager provides strategic direction for all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue Management, and Guest Services.
This leadership role is accountable for maximizing hotel revenue, increasing occupancy, improving RevPAR, controlling expenses, maintaining brand standards, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The property features 111 upscale suites, an onsite restaurant and bar, meeting and event space, and serves leisure travelers, business travelers, group business, sports teams, tour groups, and special events throughout the Rapid City and Black Hills region.
Located near Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, and other major tourism attractions, this position offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing hotel team while driving profitability, guest satisfaction scores, associate retention, and long-term business growth.

Must have a working knowledge of computers, financial reporting, budgeting, and hotel operating systems.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of hotel management, hospitality management, hotel operations, resort operations, or full-service hotel leadership experience preferred.
Experience leading multiple departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Revenue Management is highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
Responds appropriately to guest complaints, solicits feedback, and builds relationships to continuously improve guest satisfaction. Investigates guest complaints and promptly resolves both short-term and long-term issues.
Maintains guest satisfaction scores at or above brand averages.
Establishes departmental goals and monitors action plans. Implements brand standards of service and operation within all departments.
Maximizes revenues by developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies in conjunction with the Sales team.
Develops and implements effective outside sales, business development, and community engagement initiatives. Seeks opportunities to promote the hotel through social media, marketing efforts, tourism partnerships, and civic involvement.
Builds strong relationships with local businesses, tourism organizations, convention and visitor bureaus, sports organizations, and community partners to increase hotel visibility and generate new business opportunities.
Drives occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and profitability through effective hotel operations, revenue management, sales leadership, and guest experience initiatives.
Establishes and implements realistic and effective operating and capital budgets and revenue forecasts. Reviews actual operating results against budget projections and takes corrective action when necessary.
Works in conjunction with Revenue Management regarding pricing, forecasting, inventory management, and market positioning strategies.
Understands hotel financial statements and the operational drivers that impact profitability.
Analyzes financial performance, labor costs, operating expenses, and revenue trends to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
Ensures proper cash controls and internal controls are maintained to protect company assets.
Works directly with accounting personnel to ensure revenues and expenses are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.
Interviews and selects qualified associates for hire. Provides effective orientation, training, coaching, recognition, and development opportunities.
Identifies future leaders and develops succession plans for key positions within the hotel.
Establishes performance expectations and ensures consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Partners with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, leave administration, workers' compensation, recruiting, retention, and other employment matters.
Maintains a professional work environment free from inappropriate or offensive conduct.
Conducts routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, brand compliance, and overall appearance standards are met.
Leads all aspects of hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Guest Services.
Promotes and enforces hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a safe environment for guests and associates.
Keeps supervisor informed of significant issues requiring attention.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
