At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $51.41 (Min) to $77.11 (Max) hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.

Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.

As the Supervisor of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, you will work closely with radiology management and radiologists to supervise and perform technical procedures in the Ultrasound Department. Coordinates daily workflow to accommodate diagnostic, interventional and emergent examinations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisors staff to ensure the quality of work.

Interviews and recommendations for hiring quality staff according to Human Resource Policies.

Schedules staff to ensure coverage of the work area.

Determines the staffing needs, work methods and performance standards.

Monitors the job performance of each employee demonstrated by current observation and notes in the employee record.

Complies with department policies in authorizing changes in the assigned employee schedules.

Completes all employee reports and records according to established timeframes.

Initiates counseling and disciplinary action in a timely and supportive manner.

Performs all duties of staff technologist as required and maintains competency in all areas of the department.

Demonstrates the knowledge and special skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in radiology (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).

Maintains equipment and reports problems promptly.

Maintains records and reports, and collects statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.

Checks the quality control of materials and equipment to be used on a daily basis.

Conducts orientation of new employees according to the department orientation checklist.

Assists staff in developing goals and objectives for individual growth and development.

Conducts competency evaluations to ensure continued proficiency of staff in regard to the special needs and behaviors of specific age groups.

Evaluates new products and equipment to improve service. Submits budget requests by April 1st.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in Ultrasound Technology.

Bachelors Degree preferred.

Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers

Three years' appropriate skills in sonography.

Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel; ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel.
