1st Shift Production Supervisor - Pay up to $75,000
Job Description:
1st Shift Production Supervisor oversees a team of approximately 20 production leads, setup technicians, and operators. This role ensures that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety procedures are followed, while providing strong leadership and coaching in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of approximately 20 production team members, including production leads, setup technicians, and operators, to achieve output and quality goals.
Plan and manage production schedules, staffing levels, and labor hours to ensure on-time completion of work orders.
Monitor production performance and verify that products meet required specifications, directing adjustments to processes and equipment as needed.
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to team members, including training, feedback, discipline, and development.
Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures across the department.
Troubleshoot production issues and support operators in resolving workflow, process, and equipment-related problems quickly and effectively.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, process optimization, and efficiency enhancements throughout the production area.
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and system data related to output, downtime, and labor utilization.
Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to align production activities with broader operational goals.
Step in as needed to perform hands-on production, setup, or lead responsibilities during coverage gaps or periods of high demand.
Use computer systems and production software to track performance, manage schedules, and support data-driven decision-making.
Support a safe, organized, and efficient union production environment across both first and second shifts.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of manufacturing supervision or leadership experience.
Proven manufacturing leadership experience supervising, coaching, and managing production teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with production scheduling and workforce planning, including coordinating labor, workflows, and output to meet goals and deadlines.
Strong process and quality oversight skills, with the ability to monitor operations, ensure products meet specifications, and drive corrective actions.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience resolving production, process, or team-related issues.
Strong understanding of safety enforcement and continuous improvement practices, including 5S and efficiency or lean improvements.
Proficiency with computers and production systems, including the use of spreadsheets such as Excel.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly direct, coach, and support team members.
Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
Solid production management and production supervision capabilities in a manufacturing setting.
Flexible schedule to support production needs, including coverage for the 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in production environments involving extrusion, presses, and stamping operations.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
Experience in safety-focused production environments with established standard operating procedures.
Experience working with production lines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Strong general management skills, including organization, prioritization, and decision-making.
Comfort working in a union environment with multiple shifts on the production floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
