Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Job Description
This role serves as a hands-on shipping and warehouse supervision lead, overseeing day-to-day operations in a metal processing facility. You will manage warehouse staff across multiple shifts, ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, and maintain a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency. The standard schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating weekend coverage when the shop is running.
Responsibilities
Oversee up to 10 employees on 1st and 3rd shift to ensure customer demands and production schedules are consistently met.
Supervise and direct employees on their daily work expectations, tasks, and responsibilities, providing clear guidance and support.
Process employee timecards accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper recording of hours worked.
Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to ensure warehouse performance and expectations are aligned with business goals.
Set clear performance expectations for warehouse personnel and support them in achieving operational targets.
Operate hi-los (forklifts) and overhead cranes as needed to safely move material within the facility.
Ensure adherence to business operating procedures and reinforce compliance with company policies and standards.
Handle and coordinate order fulfillment within the facility, ensuring customer requirements, specifications, and timelines are met.
Oversee loading and unloading of materials, ensuring accuracy, care, and safe handling practices.
Ensure safety standards are recognized, communicated, and consistently met throughout the warehouse.
Utilize logistics, inventory, and warehouse management practices to maintain organized and efficient warehouse operations.
Use RF scanners and other warehouse technologies to track inventory and support shipping and receiving activities.
Promote a high level of safety awareness and precautions among all team members.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and manuals to guide daily operations.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated experience in warehouse supervision or a similar shipping supervision role.
Hands-on experience in logistics, inventory control, and warehouse management.
Proficiency in operating forklifts (hi-los) and overhead cranes in an industrial or warehouse environment.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading materials.
Ability to use RF scanners and related warehouse technology for inventory and order processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office for tasks such as reporting, scheduling, and communication.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively direct staff and coordinate with leadership.
High level of safety awareness and commitment to following and enforcing safety procedures.
Ability to meet workload demands and timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as part of daily warehouse activities.
Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and manuals.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in a supervisory role, leading and coordinating warehouse or operations staff.
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience working in a steel or metal processing environment is preferred.
Strong management skills with the ability to set expectations, coach employees, and hold the team accountable.
Experience in warehouse operations within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a metal processing or heavy industrial environment.
Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
Comfort working across multiple shifts and coordinating activities between 1st and 3rd shift teams.

Work Environment
The role is based in a metal processing facility with active warehouse and production operations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
