General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. We're looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician to support our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) division in Centennial, CO. In this role, you will help maintain facility equipment, building systems, and infrastructure to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting and repairing commercial or industrial facility systems. This position supports day-to-day maintenance activities, preventive maintenance programs, and general building operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Monitor building systems including HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Replace filters, belts, bearings, sensors, motors, pumps, and other mechanical components.
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, piping, and utility systems including compressed air, gas, water, and sewer lines.
Inspect facility equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues before failures occur.
Calibrate and maintain HVAC controls and temperature sensors.
Respond to maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner.
Perform general building maintenance including minor repairs, furniture moves, and workspace setup.
Conduct safety inspections of fire extinguishers, exit lights, eyewash stations, and related equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using SAP CMMS or work order systems.
Follow company safety procedures, building codes, and environmental regulations.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
Support maintenance contracts and service scheduling.
Submit badge access requests and contractor coordination.
Help maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a two-year technical degree, trade school equivalent, military class C school or Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), and seven or more years of progressive experience as a stationary engineer, journeyman plumber or HVAC mechanic. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate considerable knowledge of construction industry mechanic concepts and regulations as well as plumbing and mechanical codes.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance is maybe required.
Must possess:
Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use building automation systems to determine equipment status and resolve moderately complex issues with minimal guidance.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks and work independently or as part of a team, including working extended hours as required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly document work, accurately report findings, and interact effectively with team members, supervisors, customers, vendors, and contractors.
Customer-focused mindset and strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels of employees and external partners.
Proficiency with basic shop math.
Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
Physical ability to climb ladders, lift 50+lbs, and work safely at heights using lift equipment and required PPE.
Willingness to learn and safely operate a variety of equipment.
Strong knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, SAP, CMMS systems, and Trane Tracer® BAS is a strong plus.
Reliability and punctuality.
Required licenses/certifications:
Valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record (DMV verifiable).
EPA certification in refrigerant recovery.
