This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.
Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a CA-7 Cross-Platform Analyst to join our Production Control team. In this role, you will help ensure reliable, efficient batch processing that supports critical state agency operations.
As a CA-7 Cross-Platform Analyst, you will monitor and maintain batch schedules across mainframe and distributed systems, troubleshoot and resolve processing issues, and collaborate with technical staff and agency partners to support daily production needs. You will also develop and update job flows, document procedures, maintain system accuracy, and support disaster recovery activities.
This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework. Telework arrangements and policy updates may be adjusted based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT-related experience in batch scheduling, production control operations, or mainframe/distributed system job processing.
Experience must include:
Experience with CA-7 scheduling, including monitoring, updating, modifying, and troubleshooting batch job streams.
Knowledge of IBM JCL and the ability to interpret, update, and validate batch job instructions.
Experience diagnosing and resolving batch job failures (abends), including job restarts and incident ticket creation.
Experience supporting Application Manager (APPWORX) or similar distributed scheduling tools.
Experience developing or maintaining batch job flows, dependencies, and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experience.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT-related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a mainframe production environment.
Experience using TSO/ISPF to review, troubleshoot, or support mainframe processing activities.
Experience providing technical guidance or training to team members in production control, batch scheduling tools, or related technical processes.
Experience participating or supporting disaster recovery exercises, including validating job streams or system restoration steps.
Experience using or supporting distributed scheduling tools such as Application Manager (APPWORX) or similar platforms.
