Senior Accountant I

Salary : $70,000 - 90,000 depending on experience
Work Arrangement: Hybrid Opportunity Available

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant I to join our finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Controller and finance department through month-end close activities, financial reporting, revenue recognition, job costing analysis, forecasting, and maintaining strong internal controls.

The accounting department consists of three team members, offering strong visibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Maintain and support General Ledger activities, including period close processes.
Analyze and apply revenue recognition principles, including percentage-of-completion accounting.
Perform detailed job costing analysis and monitor project profitability.
Prepare and reconcile monthly Balance Sheet accounts.
Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial reporting packages.
Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
Perform fixed asset accounting and related reporting.
Research accounting issues and provide recommendations as needed.
Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and processes.
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and other regulatory filings.
Assist with semiannual reporting requirements, Stat Packs, and year-end audit support.
Support forecasting and cash analysis activities.
Serve as backup for the Accounting Associate, including accounts payable invoice processing and customer billing functions.
Provide guidance and support to one direct report.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong experience with job costing and project-based accounting environments.
Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles, including percentage-of-completion accounting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, construction, industrial services, or project-based environments.
CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred, but not required
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details while also understanding the bigger financial picture. You will be comfortable analyzing project costs, evaluating revenue recognition, supporting financial reporting, and serving as a trusted resource within a small but highly collaborative accounting team.
