Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Mobile Maintenance Technician operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. This role focuses on maximizing equipment life expectancy, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance, and maintaining both the interior and exterior of buildings to a high standard.
Responsibilities
Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to achieve optimal efficiency and performance.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units to extend equipment life and reduce unexpected failures.
Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, providing timely and effective solutions to restore proper operation.
Conduct general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, and other mechanical services as needed.
Inspect and repair interior and exterior building components such as walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting to maintain a safe and presentable environment.
Ensure all equipment operates in an energy-efficient and safe manner, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce energy usage.
Anticipate necessary repairs by monitoring system performance and past operating experiences, planning maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Respond promptly to service calls and maintenance requests, including emergency situations, while delivering professional and courteous customer service.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including inspections, parts used, and service history.
Support multiple facilities within the assigned area, traveling as needed to provide maintenance coverage and ensure consistent service quality.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC system issues using effective troubleshooting methods.
Practical knowledge of plumbing systems, including the ability to perform repairs and routine maintenance.
Working knowledge of electrical systems and components used in building maintenance, including lighting and power distribution.
Experience with boiler systems and related mechanical equipment in a facility environment.
Ability to perform general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, and basic structural repairs.
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and building-related issues.
Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in a clear and organized manner.
Customer service skills to respond professionally and effectively to client requests and service calls.
Capability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a maintenance technician or building maintenance professional in a commercial or facility setting.
Facility service work, including support of multiple sites or accounts.
Familiarity with lighting systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
Carpentry and painting experience to support interior and exterior building upkeep.
Comfort working with a variety of building systems and equipment in a mobile role.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal teams regarding maintenance needs and scheduling.

Work Environment
This position follows a first-shift schedule, typically working from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role requires availability on a 24/7 on-call basis to respond to client inquiries, with weekend contact focused on coordinating and scheduling appointments for the next business day rather than performing routine work. Work takes place across multiple facilities in and around the Lancaster area, supporting a designated account. The environment involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, including work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, lighting, and general building components. The technician uses standard maintenance tools and equipment and may frequently move between sites, operating in mechanical rooms, plant areas, and occupied building spaces.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
