Summary This position is located in Stones River National Battlefield, in the Administrative Division. This position is being filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL). See below under Additional Information for further eligibility guidance. Responsibilities Performs various clerical and administrative support tasks involved with records management. Maintains and/or updates logs, spreadsheets, and/or databases that track park or program information. Submits micro-purchase requests for the park or program office. Receives acquisition requests from employees, reviews them for accurate account numbers, object codes, justification etc. before sending to the Contracting Officer. Promptly submits payments on all invoices. Serves as property clerk for the park or program office. Maintains the park's property inventory records ensuring all property is properly numbered and accounted for. Assists with disposal of excess property in accordance with applicable procedures. Assists supervisor in the annual inventory of property. Issues keys and badges to employees. Serves as housing clerk for the park or program office. Maintains the park's housing records. Collects rents and other housing charges. Performs accounting, budget, or financial management support duties related to recurring or standardized transactions such as purchase orders, payroll transactions, travel vouchers, charge card reconciliations, utility payments, etc. Inputs a range of standard information or adjustments in the automated financial or accounting system. Prepares payroll for employees. Inputs and/or validates employee time and attendance data in the automated payroll system. Ensures payroll is appropriately certified and released according to specified time schedules. Answers routine employee questions concerning pay, hours of duty, and leave. Serves as the office receptionist and answers the telephone and greets visitors. Provides general information and directs visitors to appropriate personnel for specific information. You must indicate your ability by submitting documentation from a completed typing test or indicating the ability in your resume. - AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing administrative functions (e.g., payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence), using office procedures and equipment, organizing and analyzing numerical information, typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms from rough drafts, and notes, answering telephone calls, filing, and meeting and dealing effectively with others. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours completed in excess of 60 and divide by 60. Multiple the resulting decimal by 100. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months; multiple the resulting decimal by 100. Add the percentages together.
