Position Summary
The ACE Advisor will provide individualized academic and personal support to a cohort of students enrolled in the ACE program at SUNY Geneseo. This program is designed to support students in completing their degrees on time by providing comprehensive academic, financial, and personal support. The Advisor plays an essential role in guiding students through their academic journey, helping them navigate challenges, and connecting them with resources to ensure timely graduation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services within a higher education setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Proficiency in using advising and student management software
A strong commitment to supporting a diverse student population and enhancing student success.
Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States. VISA sponsorship is not offered.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.

Function 1: Academic Advising and Student Success
Offer personalized guidance on course selection, academic planning, and progression to ensure students meet their educational goals.
Assist students in overcoming personal, financial, and academic obstacles by connecting them with appropriate campus and community resources.
Track student performance, maintain detailed records, and implement interventions as needed to promote student success.

Function 2: Student Development and Engagement
Develop and facilitate workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, career exploration, and financial literacy.
Participate in the recruitment of new students and assist in orientation sessions to acclimate them to the program.

Function 3: Collaboration and Advocacy
Work closely with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to coordinate support services and advocate for student needs.
Stay informed about best practices in academic advising and student support through ongoing professional development.

Prepare and submit annual and quarterly progress reports detailing program outcomes and performance metrics to campus stakeholders and SUNY leadership
